Post a quote

1. Choose a side, then Post a quote

   In the ticket, choose Receive fixed or Pay fixed, then Post a quote. A quote to receive fixed hangs with the receivers on the right of the mast; a quote to pay fixed hangs with the payers on the left.

2. Set the rate

   Type a rate, step it with − and +, or drag your striped flag up and down the mast. Rates move in the market's tick, 0.01% on the maturities Tack lists, and can be negative.

3. Set the notional

   Type any amount from $1, or pick $2.5k, $10k, $25k or $50k. Whoever takes the quote takes all of it.

4. Set collateral and sign

   Collateral must cover the initial margin at the moment you post. Review the quote, the USDC that moves to the vault, and the rent for the quote account, about 0.0016 SOL. Sign, and your flag appears on the mast once it is final.

While it waits

A posted quote is an account of its own, holding your collateral in the market's vault. It shows on the mast in cloth and under Your quotes in the dock. Nothing happens to it until someone takes it or you cancel it.

The collateral you post stays enough. Initial margin for a given rate only falls as maturity gets closer, so a quote that met it when posted still meets it when taken.

Quotes do not trade with each other. If you post to receive 9% while a payer quotes 9.5%, both stay on the mast until someone takes one. Take the payer's quote instead if you want the trade now.

When it is taken

The taker locks collateral for the other side and the quote becomes a position, with your collateral as your side of it. It moves to Positions in the dock and settles like any other position.

Cancel

Under Your quotes, press Cancel to return the quote's collateral to your wallet. The quote account stays on chain as a record and its rent is not refunded.
