Getting started

Quick start

From a connected wallet to a fixed rate in one ticket.

Before you start

You need a Solana wallet that supports the Wallet Standard, such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, holding:

  • USDC for collateral. Opening a position locks at least a quarter of its notional on the markets Tack lists; a $10,000 lot locks about $2,500.
  • A little SOL for transaction fees and account rent: about 0.0026 SOL to open a position and 0.0016 SOL to post a quote.

Lock a fixed rate

  1. Open the app and connect

Go to the app and press Connect wallet. The button then shows your address and USDC balance.

  2. Pick a maturity

The tabs across the top are the open maturities, one per Friday at 08:00 UTC. Next to them the board shows the floating rate at the last checkpoint, the best rate you can receive or pay fixed at, and how much open interest the maturity holds.

  3. Choose a side

In the ticket, choose Receive fixed to swap funding you collect for a known rate, or Pay fixed to receive funding against a fixed rate. Pay or receive fixed explains both.

  4. Take a quote

With Take a quote selected, the ticket shows the best quote for your side. Pick any other flag on the mast to take that one instead. Each quote is a whole lot: its notional and rate are the maker's.

  5. Set collateral

The ticket fills in the minimum the program requires. Add more with the field or the slider, and read the two lines under it: the average floating rate at which the position would be liquidated, and what it makes to maturity if funding stays where it is.

  6. Review and sign

Press Take quote and read the review: the lot, the USDC that moves to the market vault, and the account the position opens. The app checks the transaction before your wallet sees it. Sign, and the position appears under Positions once it is final.

After the trade

Positions settle against every funding record without anything from you: Tack's crank sends the settlements. Open a position's row to see the fixed leg and the floating leg side by side, add collateral, or settle it yourself if it has fallen behind.

When the maturity passes, the last funding record closes the position and it moves to Closed. Press Withdraw there to take your balance back to your wallet.
